Makeup Artists

If you have been keeping up with my posts or follow me on other social media, then you are probably aware I have been present in the beauty industry for roughly 6 years now.

One can find inspiration for makeup looks anywhere including nature, pop culture, or even food. I happen to find a lot of inspiration from other makeup artists especially, when it comes to techniques in application. Like any art form, I think it is pivotal for your growth and success as an artist to acknowledge what other artists are doing.

If you are interested in discovering phenomenally talented makeup artists who have helped push me to my current skill level then keep reading!

Beautsoup

Molly Bee is as precious, creative, and talented as can be. If I had to guess, I have been following Molly on Instagram for about 4 years now. Unlike some artists, Molly primarily does makeup on herself, as I can not recall any client photos from her.

She has a tendency to experiment with colors, patterns, and textures in an intriguing way. Although Molly is not afraid to play with bold colors and patterns her looks always feel dainty because of her delicate facial features.

While I am a huge fan of all her looks, I would say that I am most inspired by her eye looks, specifically her graphic liner looks which I have saved to recreate on countless occasions.

Linda Hallberg

Linda is simply put, iconic in the makeup industry. Linda Hallberg has been in the makeup industry for quite some time and has her own cosmetics line. Linda’s style has an elegant yet original approach to editorial and grunge. All of her looks, excluding her minimal natural ones, are edgy and intense but are not lacking attention to detail.

Personally, I am most fond of Linda’s eye and skin looks. She does a phenomenal job of smoking out a combination of colors without looking muddy while allowing the skin to looks gorgeous and doll like.

Aside from how inspiring her looks are in general, Linda’s YouTube presence is a nice refreshing view into the makeup industry without a catty tone which is rare to find these days. Linda’s videos are quick and efficient but does not exclude any necessary details. I feel like looking at her IG page it can be intimidating to recreate her looks but when you watch how she does it on her YouTube channel, it seems a lot easier to achieve!

Overall, Linda seems to have a pleasant, sweet, shy personality and her makeup style is unique and challenging and inspires so many artists in a variety of ways.

Dominiqueldr

Sweet Dominique, she is so eccentric and bold and her makeup looks are nothing short of that. I’ve been following Dominique since I got involved in the industry, she has always managed to inspire me with her wide array of bold color choices and eyeshadow shapes.

One thing that is extremely inspiring to me about her work is they way she makes makeup on the face look like art in a sketchbook. Even though she does work on others, on herself especially, you can see how her attention to detail and the natural shape of the person’s face are taken into consideration.

Dominique is colorful and inspiring and I would say within the past few years, her style has really narrowed down as she has practiced and gotten comfortable. I love to see the ways she makes easy natural looks more bold and unique.
